■Y/N's POV■

I slide the door open and walk out. I want to go to look for tonight's dinner because our stove is broken. Just when I'm about to walk, I saw a cat walking in front of our shop.

Y/N: hi kity~ are you hungry?

The cat comes to me and nuzzles his head on my palm. He is so soft and very friendly. I run inside to get some cat food from my room because I tend to stray feeding sometimes. Seeing makes me remember that I forgot to bring cat food.

Thankfully the tabby cat is still waiting for me. I pour some food on a small plate and pour some water for him in a bowl. The cat eats while purring and can't help but be pleased by the sound he made.

Daichi: he looks comfortable by your presence...

By the familiar voice, I look up and see Sawamura san walking closer.

Daichi: good afternoon L/N

Sawamura san crouches down with me and rubs the cat gently.

Y/N: good afternoon Sawamura san... time for your shift I see...

Daichi: yes, this week I have the night shift...

Ever since I came here two weeks ago, Sawamura san and I meet often as his post is not far from our store. We sometimes meet when he's patrolling or when he heads to his post.

We get to talk more than when we were students. Sawamura san seems close to everyone in this shopping district as he is such a humble man and very responsible. Even mom and dad look close to him.

Daichi: are you heading somewhere?

Sawamura looks at my shopping bag as he asked this.

Y/N: ah yes, I'm going to buy something for dinner... our stove is not working... dad is calling a repairman but he will come tomorrow morning.

Daichi: oh my... well, wanna walk together?

I look at him whose smile could shoo any kind of worries away. It brings a smile to my face as well.

Y/N: yes... it'll be nice to have someone to walk with...

With that, Sawamura and I walk together. I stole a glance at him, his presence is very strong but calming.

Sawamura....

Being police suits him well...

■3rd Person POV■

Y/N and Daichi walk together towards the blocks where Daichi post is and the shop where Y/n wants to buy dinner for her family. They talk to each other, reminiscing the old days though they didn't interact much back in high school.

Y/N: are you still playing volleyball Sawamura san?

Y/N looks up at Daichi, remember how the police next to her was their school volleyball captain. Daichi smiles at Y/N and looks to his front.

Daichi: I sometimes still play with the other former Karasuno member with the current member... helping out Ukai san and Takeda sensei with the team once in a while...

Y/N: that sounds fun...

Y/N smiles at Daichi somehow happy to hear that he still plays. Y/N watch their match a couple of times back then though she was not close to Daichi at the time, and she can clearly tell that Daichi is a great captain and very devoted to the game.

After walking for a couple of minutes, they arrive at Daichi's post. The two enjoy their conversation that they didn't realize they've arrived.

Y/N: ah well, I'll go to that store now... nice walking with you Sawamura san...

Daichi: yes, you should try their Set 3 menu btw... their beef cutlet is great...

Y/N smiles as Daichi suggest to her a menu from the store she's about to go in.

Y/N: well, then a set 3 is gonna be my dinner... see you around Sawamura san... good luck with your shift

Y/N bows her head and smiles at Daichi before turning around and going to the store not too far from Daichi's post.

Daichi: see you around, L/N... be careful.

Daichi watches as Y/N walks away and then walks inside his post. As he walks inside, his colleague, Urie is about to leave. Urie who's a lightly bit older than Daichi watches as Daichi talked with Y/N earlier.

Urie: you look close with young L/N, Sawamura... hehe

Daichi who's taking his hat glances at his senior as Urie wraps an arm on his shoulder.

Daichi: well, we were schoolmate.... and it's nice to have a friend around my age around the neighborhood...

Urie gives Daichi a playful smile, making the former Karasuno's captain nervous.

Urie: well... my wife and I used to be schoolmate... maybe, you and young L/N could follow our step...

A red streak shows on Daichi's face as he hears this.

Daichi: it's not like that Urie san... we've just met again recently... and uh just meet often when I'm heading to work...

Daichi turns around and scratches the back of his head that does not even itch. Urie laughs seeing his younger colleague, he pats Daichi's back as he walks out of their post.

Urie: well, that was just a suggestion... I mean... when I look at the both of you talking together in front of our post earlier, you look good together...

Urie walks away, leaving Daichi flustered. Daichi stares at his colleague that leaves their post from the window, before averting his gaze to the store where Y/N's in. Suddenly he remembers as y/N smiles at her while cheering on him earlier. Daichi brings a hand to his face and sigh.

Daichi: Urie san words make my mind think weird...

Meanwhile, Y/N is ordering the Set 3 menu for her and her family. While she was waiting for her order to be made, she saw that this store also sells snacks. She saw Takoyaki on the menu and then remembers Daichi.

Y/N: Officers use to keep snacks when they're on guard right? Sawamura san helped me twice... I think it'll be alright for me to repay his kindness...

Y/N: um... I would like to have 2 box of Takoyaki please...

■Daichi's POV■

I'm currently taking notes while reading. As I'm focusing, I could see someone is approaching from the side of my eyes.

I look up and see L/N walking closer to my post. I put my pen down and walk to the door to greet her.

Daichi: hi, so you're done shopping?

L/N walks a couple of step closer before stopping in front of me. She lift her right hand and shows me the bags of food.

Y/N: three portion of set menu 3... hihi...

She smiles and thank me for giving her a suggestion for her dinner.

Daichi: I hope you enjoy it...

Y/N: ah yes, thank you... and um... Sawamura san...

I look at her as she lift her other hand showing a bag of smaller boxes. She then brings the bag closer to me.

Y/N: Sawamura... these are for you... it's Takoyaki...

I look at the bag in front of me and at her face.

Daichi: what is it for?

She smiles and looks a bit flustered.

Y/N: um it's for you... to repay you for helping me...

I look at her as she holds the bag for me to take.

But...

Daichi: L/N... I... can't accept gratification for helping you...

Her eyes widened a bit before she looks down. She looks down and grips the bag tighter. Looking at her like this, somehow I want to put my hand on her head and calm her down.

Wait... what....

I mentally hit myself, can't believe I've just think of laying my hand on her.

This is definitely because of what Urie san said...

Just then L/N looks up at me and holds the bag for me to take again.

Y/N: then... if it's to repay for what the former Karasuno's captain did to me... is it okay?

She stares at me and I can't help but look at those eyes.

Her eyes look pretty...

Y/N: please?

Dub Dub

Did my heart just skipped a beat? I look at her as she still hold the Takoyaki for me to take.

I finally gave in and take it from her hand. She looks up at me and I and help but smile at her.

Daichi: well... I'm gonna enjoy it then... thank you

She looks happy and beams a smile at me.

Y/N: yes... i hope you enjoy it Sawamura san... well, I'll see you around... bye

She left to her house, the building only 10 houses from my post. I watch as she heads back.

I look at the bag in my hand, I can feel that it's till warm. But the thing is, the warm spreads into my chest.

"Y/N: I'll see you around..."

Well...

I'd be waiting to see her again...

Well...

There's only a short distance between us...
